If you live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, your power goes out during storms. Mine does too.

Hi. I’m a sort-of-recent Dallas transplant (wife is a native), raising a young family here.

And I started this website because I was tired of Googling “Dallas Power Outage” for help and info every time my power went out… which seems to be around every third thunderclap in our many summer storms.

Every time, I’d end up fumbling through various sites, outage maps, newsfeeds, and all plenty of white noise… often as the sun was going down. And end up with little more than precious wasted time and unnecessary frustration.

So I’m on a newfound mission to compile the best possible information, battle-tested tips, and recommendations to help regular people handle Dallas power outages.

I’m not an electrical engineer, or a semi-pro stormchaser, or a bring-on-the-Zombies apocalypse prepper… I’m just motivated as hell to help my fellow Dallasites understand, prepare for, and handle the many power outages that are a fact of life in this all-around great city.

Whether the next outage is five hours away, five weeks away, or five minutes ago, this is going to be a place where help is available to anyone with at least a little battery power left on their computer or mobile device.
